Our Campaign

Formal Recognition of Soutsos, Zappas and Brookes

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) must formally recognise Panagiotis Soutsos and Evangelis Zappas as founders of the modern Olympic Games and Dr William Penny Brookes as a founder of the modern Olympic Movement since great institutions cannot stand on false foundations. The IOC must stop misleading the public by promoting Baron Pierre de Coubertin as the sole founder of the modern Olympic Games and of the modern Olympic Movement. Baron Pierre de Coubertin founded the IOC but he cannot be credited as a founder of either the modern Olympic Games or of the modern Olympic Movement without crediting founding predecessors.

Formal Recognition of the Athens 1870 and Athens 1906 Olympic Games

The modern international Olympic Games that were held in Athens in 1870 in the Panathenian stadium, that have not yet been formally recognised by the IOC, must be formally recognised by the IOC. The IOC's Olympic Games which were held at the Paris Exposition in 1900 (without a stadium), the St Louis World Fair in 1904 and the Franco-British Exhibition in London in 1908 were side-shows. It is a farce that they qualify as "recognised" Olympic Games when dedicated, non-elite Olympic Games, with athletics stadiums, were held in Athens in 1870, 1896 and 1906.

Formal Recognition of the Athens 1859 and London 1866 Olympic Games

The Athens 1870 modern international Olympic Games is a direct descendent of the Athens 1859 modern international Olympic Games. Similarly, the Athens 1896 modern international Olympic Games has roots in both the Athens 1859 modern international Olympic Games and the London 1866 modern national Olympic Games.
